Thinking of You

E-mail Print PDF

By Wynne Bruce

I walked on golden sand
Beneath a hyacinth blue sky
The warm turquoise ocean
Lapped my feet gently
Yet, I only thought of you.

I crossed the countryside
Burgeoning and blossoming
The sweet air smelled of herbs
Of flowers and grass
Yet, I only thought of you.

I reached at last, my home
The garden a riot of colours
Birds flew and fluted
I closed the little gate
Yet, I only thought of you.

Inside my home I climbed the stairs,
And sat beside the window
The summer breeze fluttered the curtains
My cat purred on my lap
Yet, I only thought of you.

Remembering our parting...
Was it yesterday or tomorrow?
Time stands still for me now
Was there happiness or sorrow?
I know not,
For I can only think of you....
