Metaphysical vs Scientific Research

I've noticed a significant difference between research conducted by millions of scientists for the recent, say 100 years, and research attempts (I'd call it) conducted by metaphysical researchers (as there's no doubt we can see this tension between both which takes much more than 3 centuries, actually general scientific thinking is as old as religious attitude). The former appears to be more, actually much more solid for a layman: science (the current state of scientific knowledge) is based on many discussions between scientific researchers, have a common "playground", is organized, and the ultimate goal of these "interactions" between scientist researchers is the common agreement - no matter whether it is an agreement only in theory or a real agreement.

This approach has advantages and weak sides (which most of people here probably would indicate), but the final result is a slowly but gradually developed, systematic and rather deprived of pitfalls which are logically uprooted, set of "truths".

Esoteric (metaphysical) research, on the other hand, has no such common area, and in places where it has, the premises seem to be mainly rooted in traditions - and not one but many, sometimes fighting with the others, This approach has also certain advantages and weak sides.

The result however is that there's no real motivation between people in the esoteric fields to create a common ground (one of the problems is that although the open mind for metaphysical phenomena is very common, not that common as for scientific explanations for the reality though, is that most of people interested in esoteric subjects are not researchers - another difference to science). The problem is even more complex than science encounters, as esoteric fields touch undefined things with which there's typically a common disagreement (like the concept of god or gods or its equivalents as one of the most obvious everlasting battlegrounds). The result: everyone keeps a personal or personalized set of beliefs which may differ a lot, and in the end in reality as I found out among esoteric people is an often unconscious belief in how the universe is related to myself, i.e. human beings, which include such things like karma, reincarnation and the presence of satan or (somewhat evil) parasites etc.

What is going on my mind is that: is there a chance to find a common subset of the metaphysical system that is built like science (is systematic) to which most of researchers (not dogmatic believers) would agree to?

Ok, I'll write short note on investigating the reality - something people tend to shy away from, mainly due to their unclear and fragmented mental way (part of which is mind programming - unconscious programs that drive their thinking).

Investigating things needs certain training actually, but the skills can be obtained in a natural way. Most people are not detectives, investigators, don't trace anything - probably never in their life. However, it's not that important, because most people were "hunting" for information, like trying to find more info on a news, not thinking about it. Investigating the reality has something in common with both, and in the end both are mental activity, which can be break down and analyzed. There are multiple levels of analyzing facts - the details that a detective is trained to not overlook (where most don't pay attention to), but also find the connections on the general "level", i.e. look beyond what is perceived directly or what is given in the straightforward way. Interesting thing is that while people have opinions e.g. on politics, i.e. position themselves as experts in this subject, which I think is not that important, most of the global society ignore investigating the reality they live in... or they use only already existing mental frameworks - the ancient traditions like kabbalah or tarot symbolism (or buy what scientific media sell them) :) while investigating needs also creative work, going beyond the scheme, and really, objectively understand the facts - only then a detective would be successful in their endeavor. The ultimate result actually depend on this approach, so I like to compare a work of a detective to the effort put into better realizing in what kind of universe surrounds us just at this very moment.
