Children and natural sensitivity

My son was begging me to tickle him earlier as he is the age where a good tickle is a bedtime regular. So I'm teasing him by pretending to tickle and by hovering my tickle fingers round his middle and his butt and he tells me how his butt hurts right here... His base Chakra so I tickle finger his solars and he feels this too. He asked about his sensitivity to his bottom and I couldn't explain it better than 'it was more private and had to do with his survival and his base instincts'

It was interesting to have my son show me where his focus spots were, I think it might have helped me isolate on my own spots better; still too, the question of child sensitivity.

Are we at our youngest, more sensitive to super sensitive development than at an older age? Is it wise to encourage curiosity in that direction before maturity?

Yes and no. Sensitivity really does depend on the person. Children who are sensitive have more of a chance to engage and thus develop those kinds of senses. However, I would say that, generally speaking, the older you get, the less sensitive to this raw kind of physiological energetic sensations you become. But this, again, comes down to:

  1. Childhood predisposition.

  2. Energy work practices throughout your life.

  3. Health of the body and mind.

It's good to encourage that curiosity because it helps children to explore and thus develop to be able to engage with their inner selves earlier rather than later when life inevitably kind of forces them to do so.

I find this to work extremely well when encouraging them to feel it out and engage with it using questions that lightly prompt them to utilise simple Tactile Body Awareness skills. Ask them, for example, what does it feel like? Is it like this or that? What happens when... and etc.
